Stressed Out?
Taking Care of Stress

Many experts recommend the following basic concepts for managing stress:
  • Learn a relaxation technique appropriate for you.
  • Making changes in your life to reduce stress, but don’t make too many in a short period of time.
  • Exercise - it releases tensions and benefits health.
  • Eat well - stress robs your body of nutrients, making you more vulnerable to illness.
  • Take time off.
  • Decrease the noise and confusion around you.
  • Talk to friends, relatives or professionals about your problems. Don’t just hold it all in.
  • Join support groups that include people who are in the same situation as you.
  • Get regular physical checkups.
  • Plan your work, manage your time. Set realistic goals.
  • Avoid unnecessary stress when you have a choice.
  • Get enough sleep.
  • Realize that it may be necessary to quit a job or change a situation in order to be happier.
  • Get involved in hobbies, interests and other people.
  • Recognize what you can and what you cannot change. For those things that are beyond your control, accept them.
  • Take breaks in your daily routine to pamper yourself. Have fun.
The Pamper Principle

Spa treatments have a twofold effect on stress: physically, you’re afforded a chance to rest and rejuvenate. Most treatments, such as a massage or a steam bath, for example, also give your circulatory system a boost. Psychologically, the effect of a spa treatment is even more pronounced. Not only do you give your brain a break, but you’re also telling yourself that you deserve a break. Nothing can be more enlightening or more soul satisfying.
